好色先生 the Program
NJCU STEAM Academy is an intensive multi-year summer enrichment program that unlocks STEAM potential in promising middle and high school students. Over four consecutive summers starting in 7th grade, students take pre-college-level courses in mathematics, sciences, and humanities. Students at the high school level that are successfully completing the requirements for the program are eligible for college-credit courses taught by NJCU faculty.
Through dynamic hands-on learning, students strengthen their mastery of core STEM subjects while gaining critical thinking skills, quantitative literacy, and vision for college studies and careers ahead. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements and attend an information session with their parents/guardians.
The program is funded through the generosity of Novartis, and the Bloomberg Foundation.
STEAM Academy Enrollment
Expected enrollment for the 2025 program year is 275 students, marking a rise in enrollment over previous years. This accounts for increased interest from students and their families, particularly those in Years 3 and Years 4 for college-level course access. Participating students are selected carefully from partner schools and districts to build a high-potential cohort committed to STEAM excellence, and are capable of completing rigorous academic coursework in preparation for AP/Honors/College-level work.
The cost to attend the NJCU STEAM Academy for 2025 is $600.00 for new, incoming students, and $400.00 for all returning students. Year 4 students who are interested in receiving college credit have the ability to enroll in select STEAM-based courses in NJCU's for an additional $300.00 a course, making our pre-college program one of the most affordable options for college credit classes from any four-year institution in 好色先生. Students in Year 4 that successfully complete the STEAM Academy and matriculate at 好色先生 for their undergraduate studies as a full-time student will also receive all application fees waived, and specialized academic counseling support. Year 4 students may also opt to transfer the credit earned from 好色先生 to another cooperating institution of their choice.
As a partially grant-funded program, costs may vary year-to-year based on available funding. All prospective students receive full details on expected costs during open houses and in their acceptance materials.
The application window for the 2025 year will begin in January 2025.
*Former Proyecto Science Program Students that have successfully completed all four years of the program are eligible to take courses for college credit at the highly discounted rate for current students. Please send an email to STEAMAcademy@NJCU.EDU for more information.
