Our Mission

The Office of Adult and Continuing Education at NJCU is reshaping education to meet the evolving needs of learners at every stage of life. We believe learning should extend across the lifespan, offering programs that support youth, adults, and mature learners. Courses are also available in Spanish to serve our bilingual community.

    Our programs are designed by a team of professionals from each respective field, providing you with effective web-based learning programs. Instructors/mentors are actively involved in your online learning experience, responding to any questions or concerns, as well as encouraging and motivating you to succeed.

    We offer a wide range of highly interactive courses that you can take entirely over the Internet. All of our courses are led by expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known authors. Our online courses are affordable, fun, fast, convenient, and geared just for you.

    Workforce Development Programs

    The objectives of each workforce development program are aimed at helping individuals develop the middle skills required to succeed in today's ever changing economy.

    Prior Learning Credits Program

    Our Prior Learning Credits program offers students the opportunity to gain college-level credits for their relevant knowledge and skills, provided they meet the criteria for additional transfer credits as outlined in our transfer credit policy.

    Alternate Route to Teaching

    The New Pathways Alternate Route Program provides a process for individuals to become licensed teachers. The program includes 400 hours (24 credits) of education courses that are taken during candidates' first two years of teaching.

    Since 1997, the award-winning Proyecto Science summer enrichment program at ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú has unlocked students’ curiosity and strengthened their skills across science, technology, engineering and math.

    Community Music School

    The mission of the NJCU Community Music School is to provide students with a well-rounded music curriculum and education. NJCUCMS faculty members are strongly dedicated to meeting the demands of their students' varied musical goals and talents.
